Overview of Georgia’s Own Credit Union
Georgia’s Own Credit Union was first established in the year 1934 and is based in the state of Georgia. The credit union currently has 28 branches and 524 employees. As of December 2021, the credit union has 208,658 members.
Who Can Join?
There are 5 ways you can qualify for membership:
1. COUNTY RESIDENCE/EMPLOYMENT
Be a resident or employed in one of the following counties in Georgia: Baker, Barrow, Bartow, Brooks, Calhoun, Carroll, Chatham, Cherokee, Clarke, Clay, Clayton, Cobb, Colquitt, Columbia, Coweta, Crisp, Decatur, Dekalb, Dougherty, Douglas, Early, Effingham, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Hall, Henry, Lee, Lowndes, Meriwether, Mitchell, Newton, Paulding, Quitman, Randolph, Richmond, Rockdale, Spalding, Sumter, Stephens, Stewart, Terrell, Thomas, Tift, Walton, Webster, or Worth.
2. GETTING AHEAD ASSOCIATION
If you live in Georgia and are a member of the Getting Ahead Association (GAA), you are also eligible for membership in Georgia’s Own Credit Union. GAA is designed to help you gain access to the information that you need to improve your quality of life and reduce the cost of living. Membership is eligible to any individual who is committed to improving their financial well-being. 3. GEORGIA STATE UNIVERSITY PARTNERSHIP
Be a current student, faculty or staff employee, retiree, or alumni of Georgia State University.
4. FAMILY MEMBER
Be a family member of a current Georgia’s Own Credit Union member. Anyone related by blood, adoption, or marriage is eligible.
5. PREMIER PARTNER EMPLOYEE / RETIREE
